social events are not coming up
I try to start a social event and the screen is white and blank. No social events come up I don't know what mod it could possibly be, Any pointers? (I play on PC)

@China2Crazy There's a known issue with TwistedMexi's TOOL Mod that blocks social events. You can remove TOOL Mod after you're done using it, then add it back when you specifically need it.
it actually turned out to be jellypaws mods, i don't know which in particular but i deleted all of them and it came back up but twisted mexis better exceptions is not scanning either and when my sims eat their plate or drink is on another area of the table, do you know anything that could be messing with that? (thank you for the help)

For your other issue, test without mods and CC to check if it is being a mod/CC issue, and make sure to delete the localthumbcache file. For BE, delete and redownload from TwistedMexi's website (not a Google search) to make sure you have the current version.
