Stuck on loading after hitting save

Since I installed the new pack, I haven't been able to save my game. I can plat the game but when I want to save, it keeps infinitly loading. How do I fix this? I really want to play with the new pack but if I can't save then it's not worth it to do anything.

  • @PineAppleLot8  The first question is, does your main save load with no mods AND no custom content, as in, the entire Mods folder is removed?  Did you run all the tests you listed with no mods or cc?  It's critical to remove as many complicating factors as possible.

It's certainly possible that some cc is a problem only some of the time, for example only when sims are wearing a CAS item (and wearing that outfit) or a Build/Buy item is placed in a house.  It can be difficult to troubleshoot these kinds of issues, but not impossible with some patience.  However, if your save is broken with no mods or cc, in that you can't even "save as," that's a more immediate issue.

  • Okay so I just started a new save and saving did work there. After that I tested my main save and it didn't work there so I still don't know what the problem is.

  • @PineAppleLot8  Can you use "save as" rather than "save"?  Please try it and let me know.  If that doesn't work either, switch to a different household and use "save as" there.  You'll be creating a new save rather than overwriting your current one, so don't worry about lost progress.

Please test with no mods or custom content, at least for now.

Okay so I just spend almost 1,5 hours trying multiple things. "Save as" did nothing. I tried multiple saves and multiple households. There was a whole other save that had no problems and an other save that wouldn't even load the household (both had only one household that I made and played with). Then I made a copy of my main save file and started it without my mods. No change. I removed all my cc as well and that helped in the different version of my main save file. I started placing folders back and restarted the game and tried again trying to find what was wrong. I placed everything back but the cc category and it still worked. Then I opened another version and somehow it didn't work in that one. I also tried that other save where I couldn't open that household and that was also not fixed.

So I think there is something wrong in my cc files? Is there a way to know what exactly is causing the problem?

My main save file works normally without mods and cc. I think the problem is caused by something in the cc folders, my mods aren't the problem, that I do know.

So it's something in my skin details folder (skin blends, tattoos, eyecolor defaults, nails etc.) The game works fine without that folder
