Taxes bills not playing

Finally the old house I went back to playing, (and took most of their money) had their power disconnected due to said lack of funds. So I paid them.
I didn’t play the sims for 2 weeks.

I log on, and bills again, 13k.. again.. that’s all they have left at this point.
paid. Sold stuff, played a little.
left to play another game for a month.

come back today , notifications  are a month old, no bill info. But there’s mail!  More bills!!!
10k.

I haven’t played the game, it’s really hampering my game, ive played maybe 6 hrs real time in the last 6 weeks and paid these bills 3x. They’re not working when I’m offline.. how are bills still coming in??

  • Assuming an unmodded game (because there are mods that affect bills)...

Bills come in once a week, usually on Monday.  If you aren't playing a household on that day, they don't receive bills and their power shouldn't be cut off.  (If, on the other hand, you say "forget this, I'm going to go play someone else" after receiving bills, then yeah, their utilities might get shut off.)  They also don't go to work or receive book or music royalties while you're not playing them. If you click on the mailbox it'll give you more information about the bill breakdown, but generally there are lot taxes and they're also a percentage of The Things These Sims Own, including stuff in the household inventory. They might also get penalties from being Not In Compliance with any NAPs if you have Eco Lifestyle.

If I understand correctly, you play rotationally, and it sounds like you mostly play this household on Bill Day.  It's possible that this household just doesn't make enough money to afford their bills.  There are some things you can do that help, including the Frugal reward trait, but generally... you might want to play them an entire week at a time so they earn enough to pay their bills.

Yes, not modded. On Xbox. Most simmers don’t understand when I say I play a different game, it’s a different game, not a different house.
I’m on ark, or fortnite, not sims.
when I come back to sims, there’s bills. And I haven’t opened my sims game in two weeks.

or a month this time. The game was not on.
im back at this house with low funds cause he’s almost finished the culinary career and now he’s a senior.

not playing for a month, deep in notifications it says 5 days ago there was activity, like they went to work, and received bills. But I assure you, I was playing Ark for a Halloween event (2 weeks long) and I was not on The Sims.

why do I exit the whole game and come back to bills I paid , last time I played ? The game wasn’t opened.
pic of my game saves, auto save was an hour earlier than this Oct date.

    @sumbl1ss

Ask whoever else it is that play the Sims on your account not to do that. It is evident that someone has been playing or a new savegame would not have been created.

It is not evident that someone else plays, for one, I never mentioned if I live alone or with people. Two, we all have our own personal xboxes and PCs. No one has opened my sims.  I like how it’s not just, the game having a thing here?
it took maybe a week in game for the new bill to register.

It also doesn’t make sense the last save being oct 8th, 7:18pm, and the auto save is an hour earlier, being oct 8th 6:15pm. How is anyone else playing and it being evident ? Lol
