The Sims 4 title screen has placeholder text all over the place

Text such as "TITLETITLETITLE" are appearing all over the place. I wouldn't care if this was the only problem, but when i press new game, it either brings me back to the menu, or freezes the game. I've tried repairing the game, but it didn't work.

    I deleted my mods and the problem went away.

    I did some research on some other people who had the same issue. One of the mods that came up was TMEX's all scenarios mod. I'd try removing that one and deleting localthumbcache
