I have the ''Longer parties more guests'' mod of Weerbesu, which also allows me to invite 200 sims and invite anyone in the save. and I love it. it works fine for me.
I wonder if it will be fine with the new patch and game pack (there will be new types of events - so the mods should be updated).
So I think that it doesn't matter if I use the mods you described here or the mod I use now :)
