What Do I Do Now?

Just as recently as the pre-HSY patch, I had the auto-updating toggle off in Origin. Because I use Mods. Whenever I see a patch is about to drop, I go into my documents folder, and pull my Mods folder then I click on the update button on the game cover, manually. Today, I got a really RUDE surprise. I finally opened up Origin, to see a patch update IN PROGRESS! I paused it, then pulled my Mods folder out of my game folder, before I hit resume update. However, now I'm concerned. I doublechecked my Origin settings only to see the toggle for auto-update was in the ON position! I didn't turn it back on. And now I have no clue just how long the patching process had been ongoing. Do I just replace my current mods with a fresh copy? Or do I take the chance I may have pulled it in time?

Please help. I'm so upset at the moment I could quite literally cry.

  • This was such a small update that it probably didn't affect your mods. As long as they were all up to date and working, they should be fine. If you had the bug fix for inappropriate wants, make sure you remove that because it is obsolete and may cause some problems.

Thanks for the response. I renamed the mods folder, since I had a slightly older Mods folder in my Electronic Arts document, so I could place it there, too. Checked it just now, only one mod was in it! :open_mouth: Thankfully, after I started the process to download the mods I need, I only had to remove one mod from this 'older' folder to retain the others that were working just fine. Since they were in the EA folder at the time of the update, I expect these mods to be just fine. Yikes. I still have no clue as to how my off toggle got into the on position! No one else in my family (and it's just my hubby and me, now) even touches this computer.

Thanks again, I'm off to play my game!
  • It was a small non mod breaking patch. And it will not overwrite your mod folder anyway... relax :)

The folder I pulled when I realized what was happening only has one mod in it now. Where did the other go? Thankfully, I saved a Mods folder. I only removed Mortem, because I'm hoping I won't need it, besides something was interfering with MCCC so that I couldn't have my kids resume school! But, thank you any way. I accept the tea and the reassurance. :)
