When I try to open custom content clothes it only shows locked items.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? None. Only the base game and 3 CC downloads that don't work..
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? First, I accidently set my CC file as open with internet explorer. I read that it doesn't ruin the files so thats not the problem, I think. However, when I start a new world and try to open the custom content menu it only shows locked items. (I have the CC's in Sims 4 > Mods. I Also tried Sims 4 > Content but that also doesn't work.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't use any custom content clothes (CC)

I just downloaded my game on my PC cause it got free. (Been playing on ps4 couple years). I was so excited to play and find cute CC Items but I didn't know how to add them to the Sims 4 game. Before I asked my friend I tried it myself and did Open file with > Internet explorer. Any new CC's I download now also have an Internet explorer icon next to it. I read that it should not be an issue but I don't know what else it is. I have custom content AND mods on, but still when I try to use custom content is only shows the locked stuff. I hope clicking Open file with > Internet explorer didn't ruin my whole laptop, For example: Downloading a picture from google and me not being to open it cause it's associated with Internet explorer. Sorry If you don't understand but my first language isn't English.
