Your Reccomendations for Long-Term Playthrough
Hello everybody! I'm hoping to get some people's input on the mods that I'm thinking of using in an upcoming playthrough, and also your suggestions for other mods and content that you think I should be using as well.
My plan for the playthrough is to essentially do a Super-Sim challenge, much like James from the SimSupply has done on his YouTube channel, in which I need to play a single sim that eventually completes all the aspirations, skills and careers in the game. However, in order to spice it up a bit, I also want to combine elements of a legacy challenge wherein I start on a very large lot with very little money (I'm thinking the Hound's Head in Brindleton Bay with about $2500 starting cash).
But here's where I really want to take this to the next level. I'm thinking of using a few major gameplay overhaul mods, because there are some aspects of The Sims that I find are too easy for a challenge like this. The mods I have in mind so far are Long-Term Relationship Building and Meaningful Stories, as well as MCCC for story progression and increased lifespans.
I'd like to reduce the amount of income from as many of the careers (and part time jobs) as possible. The 50% Lower Career Salaries mod looks promising for this, but I haven't tested it yet. Hopefully it covers everything.
Hopefully this gives you an idea of the kind of gameplay I'm looking for. I'm aiming for increased difficulty while maintaining some degree of realism, but I'm open to any ideas for mods that you think improve gameplay in general. I'm also happy to have this be quite heavily modded, even if that will involve a lot of testing beforehand to make sure everything is working as expected, so please feel free to throw any and all ideas at me.
My final question is do you have suggestions for my MCCC configuration, specifically when it comes to re-population and culling? In previous playthroughs where MCCC has been pretty much the only mod I've been using, I've had some trouble where my sims couldn't fall pregnant, and I suspect this might have had something to do with population limits. I want to avoid these kind of problems wherever possible.
Thanks very much if you've bothered to make it to the end of this post. I hope to hear from you with your suggestions!
