Build-mode button shortcuts are bugged, and drifting cursor.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.67.26.2310
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Seasons, Island Living, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Cottage Living, Werewolves, Vampires, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat,
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open last manually saved game. Select Residential World. Select lot and choose Build.
What happens when the bug occurs? Mouse Pointer keeps drifting horizontally to the left. Left Joystick has to be held gently to the opposite direction in order to keep the Cursor still. Backing from any selected building option like: building walls, placing objects, don't work.. Basically all the button shortcuts in Building mode are bugged if you try to back from placing an item. However, when looking through items in the Buy menu and choosing a colour swatch, backing from this works just fine.
What do you expect to see? Cursor should stay still when not using it after the first time interacting with it, after loading into the game. Button shortcuts should work as intended, without having to use Close/exit from all Menus.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. All Patches from September 13, to the latest Gallery Filter Patch of November 22.

Notice!

My controller is fairly new, bought in July and I have played the game using it since without any problems. I kept a break from playing Sims 4 after August 23. My old controller had a Vertical drift problem but it wasn't anything like this one I have now, and even then the cursor stopped moving on it's own after 1-2 seconds. No other games have a problem with the Joystick drift or the B button.

I know this sounds very peculiar for a bug or a glitch, but it's hindering any kind of building immensely. I've never had this before.

(Apologies for possible errors in grammar.)

    Hi there @Desthesia,

This sounds like you're seeing some controller related drift. There are several troubleshooting steps you can run through for your controller:

    • Replace the batteries in your controller
    • Manually power-cycle your controller
    • Connect your controller to your Xbox using a USB cable
    • Check for a firmware update on your controller
    • Restore your controller's button mapping settings to default-
      • Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
      • Under Profile & system, select Settings.
      • Under Devices & connections, select Accessories.
      • On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select Configure.
      • Select Restore to default to set the controller back to its original button mapping.

If these steps don't resolve the issue for you, please test a different controller as well.

My controller is an adapter controller. Firmware is up to date as it should be. Configuration shows the control's buttons respond accurately. But it seems the controller has an internal joystick problem in-game. My original controller has none of these issues and works just fine. It could be that the cursor sensitivity in game is so intense, it picks up any errors within my actual controller, while any other games ignore this.

I'm still left confused by the B button problem. Why does it work just fine in any other environment (other games, console menu control etc.) but in Sims build-mode, it refuses to back from wall building or placing items? This also applies to Y and X buttons' functions as well. They work 50% of the time. I firmly believe there's a serious input synchronisation problem in Console version's build-mode. I've experienced lag months earlier that affected the button commands.
