Console Controller Feedback

I’ve been playing the Sims 4 on Xbox using a controller since 2017, by far and away what I’d love to see most on console is more save slots! Only having ten saves available makes it really hard to keep backups, and I’ve had a couple times where a glitch has completely broken a save and I’ve had to abandon it because I didn’t have any copies of the save before the error.

In CAS, I’ve had a persistent bug for as long as I can remember where using the bumpers to navigate to the next outfit in CAS automatically sends me to the formal outfit, regardless of where I am in the order.

I use buildmode a lot, and one major disparity between the PC and console versions I’d love to see corrected if possible is camera controls. On console you can move left and right and zoom in and out on command but there’s no way to change the actual angle the camera is pointing down at, you’re stuck at the same 45 degree angle until you go into livemode. This makes it tough to position objects correctly with the move objects cheat, and I’m always running into troubles where I’ll load into a lot and realize that rock on the lawn or those books I placed on a shelf are actually floating. I know that’s probably a limitation with the controls, but it would be really nice to have! I’d also love to see a similar “sell in stack” button for objects in the household inventory like the personal inventory. It gets really tedious having to sell some things one by one, and as some people have already said here, it can be an accessibility issue. The object filters need some kind of search bar, or at least way to quickly navigate between the lists of expansions, game packs, and stuff packs. It gets tiresome having to scroll all the way down and up whenever I want to filter by a specific pack.

The simology menu in livemode also DESPERATELY needs redoing. There’s too many tabs and they’re way too easy to flip past using a controller. I’ve had so many times where I’ve been trying to check my sims’ character values or likes and dislikes and I can’t easily navigate to the icons I need and wind up flipping back and forth on the fame points or community influence tabs until I finally hit the joystick at the right angle to select what I want.

• Which buttons do you wish behaved differently and why? The new update took the auto right analog scroll away in the catalog which is extremely inconvenient since now you have to hold X and scroll using the sidebar and right analog 🤦🏽‍♀️🙄😤 I sincerely hate that I now have to work harder to scroll

When using the 4 bumpers to enter cheats on Xbox one, you have to click B in order to close the menu instead of hitting the 4 bumpers again.

Hello! I recently logged back into a save I’be been playing, and suddenly when entering into the build mode from manage worlds, the bar that pops up that shows build, objects by room, and objects by function items will not go away after hitting the back button (I play on console). 

BRING US 3RD/1ST PERSON JOYSTICK CONTROL. It would be amazing to have the option on consoles to switch to joystick control. Rather than joystick moving the cursor around, actually move our sim around and walk! I know you can switch the camera to follow your sims head around, but how cool would it be to actually be able to move them around freely?

For additional context, I just installed the most recent update as of 1/31/23 and after launching the game after the update this issue started

I gotta say that the updated controls feel the same for the most part but i have to say that i don't agree with the way B&B mode has been handled.

It was easier to scroll for items before the update and now, having to rely more on the cursor, it feels more clunky and slower.

Were before i could use the analog stick to scroll, select an item and have the swatches display before placing an item, now everything has to be done separately with the cursor and i don't feel that's an improvement for console players.

I know the updated controllers are meant to mimic the PC experience but for someone like me, who's been playing the game on console since i bought it and so, is used to how the game worked, having a drastic change of button mapping and functionality kind of ruins the pleasent experienced i had with the game so far.

I’d really like if there was an easier way to roof houses. I always struggle with using my controller to use the roofing tools due to the complicated nature of it. Also! Sometimes the controls in the top right hand corner of the screen are oftentimes just black lines, as opposed to something helpful, like what button delete an object (which is what I think it’s supposed to be used for). I’d also really like the feature to turn this option off, as an experienced simmer it oftentimes gets in my way when in build mode.
