Fishing collection glitching and I have tried everything to fix it

I've been playing with my current household for 4 generations. I have almost completed a lot of the collections, I play on xbox one. Now the family I am currently playing moved out to Sulani and I have all the native tropical fish caught and mounted in my main sims inventory. Now when I try to move though it gives me zero credit for any of the fish I have caught and resets the entire collection. It's making me upset because I have played the sims since sims 2 first came out. I have tried reinstalling the game, tried moving the fish between inventories but nothing works and I need to move out of sulani so I can continue my story line.... PLEASE HELP ME I'M GOING TO CRY because I have spent hours working to get those fish.

    @SarahTheSimmer10 Questions are fine. 

    I am not really certain how you have your family set up. 

    If you have a sim who has the fish. There is a child sim (or any other sim really) in the same household, you can give the fish to the child/other sim in their personal inventory.

    You can move that second sim with the fish into the household you want the fish in using "ask to move in" in the friendly social menu and they will move into the household you want the fish to be added to their collection. (Unless the sim is a child, then the adult in the household has to be "asked to move in")

    The new household will then have the fish from the old household. The collections should not reset.

    Well I am trying to move in my sims sister because she is a child and the parents are going to die soon and I don't want her being put up for adoption, but when i tried to do this it glitched out my collections and I quickly quit so I didn't permanently loose them...

    Okay thank you and then what happens when I have to move from the houses? I am trying to save up to move to Windenburg, and when I move from one house to another it also deletes my fishing collection.

    @SarahTheSimmer10 The collections will only reset if you move a sim out of/into the household using manage worlds. It should not reset if you simply move a family to a new lot.

    Make a save before you move each time to make sure you have a backup you can revert to if the collection resets.

    Okay, you are honestly a life saver!  But what should I do because it didn't let me keep my fish when I moved from Oasis to Sulani....

    @SarahTheSimmer10 If you moved a sim out of the household when you did the move, that would cause the collection to reset. So splitting a family and moving from Oasis Springs to Sulani, the original household keeps the collections and the new household has none or if you move a sim out of a current family in manage worlds the collections will reset. 

    So long as you move your sim with the phone or use the "move out" options and not manage worlds to move sims, then your collections should be okay.

    Okay and I know I must be annoying but this happened one time and I've been scared to do it since, one of my sims who holds the fish is going to be an elder soon and I tried transferring their fish to their child's inventory and it reset the fish collection, what would you recommend there? I'm so sorry to be taking up your time, I've never really had major problems up to this point.

    Well when my sims was in the middle of fishing I was transferring fish into his wife's inventory that he caught in order to keep things together but it reset the fish collection the next time I logged on...and Idk maybe it was just a weird glitch or something but idk... but thanks for all your help, next child my sim has will be named Juniper after the sweet player who helped me with my fishing collection 🙂
