My Game is crashing. What can I try?

@manolobeach Are you receiving an error code? Also, the PS4 had a system software update just after the Sims updated. Please make sure you have that update installed. I would not rely on the PS4s auto update. Check it manually.
@ohh_dee7That error is a general error for PS4 and has nothing to do with the Sims game specifically. If you don't wish to do any troubleshooting for your system, then no one can help you. If you change your mind, I will supply a list of troubleshooting steps that you can follow. Or read the link I supplied to the error you are receiving. The same steps will be available there.
I'm getting the error code "CE-34878-0" when I crash!
For members seeing this Error Code "CE-34878-0", these specific steps may help from @PoptartJuniper. Click the spoiler tag directly below to view them. If the crash is happening with the error code more than one time, there are a few troubleshooting steps for your specific Error Code. I would suggest checking all updates manually and not relying on the auto update on your PS4. Go through the steps one at a time and see if the game stops crashing after each step.
Occasionally it is useful for The Sims 4 team to collect user files (saves, videos, exception logs, etc.) in order to investigate issues.
These are the ways that you can share user files and media with The Sims 4 team:

PC/Mac:
Direct attachment (only for text files)

Most PC/Mac files that we request will be located in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ . For example, game saves for The Sims 4 are located in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves\ .

The game just crashed and gave me this error code 4 times in the past hour. I’ve had issues with the game crashing and getting this error code frequently before - typically when exiting Build Mode or CAS. Tonight has been the worst it’s ever been though. Three times I tried going into The Gallery from Build Mode to try and place a lot from My Library and all 3 times the game crashed. The fourth time, I went into CAS and tried going into The Gallery to add a Sim to a household from My Library. The game made it into the Gallery that time, but then immediately crashed again. I submitted reports all four times on the PS4. (Those reports were made under the gamer tag ChelleBelle716 though. For whatever reason, this iPad I’m on defaults to my daughter’s gamer tag, which is the KEW0701.)
So for the past hour and a half, instead of playing and enjoying the game I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on, I’ve not actually played a single minute. I’ve spent it crashing, restarting (which on the PS4 takes 8 - 10 minutes each time), and trying again four times, submitting 4 reports on PS4 and now a bug report on here. This is really, really starting to suck. I just want to be able to play the game and content I bought and paid for without the constant stream of glitches, bugs and crashes. :-(
My PS4 is fairly new (less than a year old). Sims 4 and PS4 software is all up to date. I even rebuilt my database recently. No other game we play on the PS4 crashes / gives an error code. This issue is definitely specific to Sims.
I’ve also had the same problem with the crashes constantly and like you I’ve paid loads for these games and it’s hardly playable for long periods, I can’t send my sims to community lots because it just crashes, I’ve contacted ea maybe 10 times done every single step
cleared cache
renewed licenses
uninstalled everything with it backed up
re installed
initialised my PS4 aswell
literally everything the ea live chat told me to even change my internet network settings which I did but knew it wouldn’t make a difference
a girl on a PS4 sims group suggested deleting lots from my library and In not sure it helped because I deleted so much and it still crashes on the hour
Sadly, I have not. I have done everything suggested, including uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Nothing has helped. I know they suggest reinitializing your PS4 but I’m really reluctant to do that because it will take hours, and from reading other users posts who have done it, it doesn’t help either. :-(
Don’t do it. I did everything multiple times. Lost save files complely 3 times (they vanished). And it still crashes just the same in new save files too. Keep reporting 🙂
Hi @KEW0701, at this point I think it'd be best to add your thread to the megathread on crashes that were an issue before the patch, so you can stay notified on any new steps or updates for those crashes.
@EA_LannaThank you but it is not. It’s an ongoing problem for over a year now. I’ve been complaining on this forum before and keep reporting all the crashes with description and video.
To avoid confusion my response was mainly at KEW0701 reinitializing her PS4. Not to go into details but that’s a serious task that will wipe everything and everyone off the system.
And to clarify, I play on PS4 pro with plenty of free space, system is up to date, so is Sims, I reinstalled game, restarted console, rebuilt database, sent you save files, backed up my data (and it can’t be loaded again once save file vanishes)... did all that multiple times. At the end reinitialized PS4. That was a nightmare. And game still crashes (mainly while loading travelling screen, moving household, going into CAS, switching from BB to CAS etc). Starting a new save file will temporarily stop crashing but only for few days and then it’s back in full force.
I also own 100+ games (a lot of them by EA), and have no issues with any other, very rarely will anything crash. Been raising this issue with respect as an avid simmer for 20 years now in hopes you guys will figure out what’s going on and we can all keep enjoing our game. Had no issues yet with a new update except wathing a movie goes in loop for hours (I’ll jinx myself lol).
