Hey All, I have an idea about a workaround that may or may not be useful to you...
Many months ago, when I first installed Seasons, I had similar random crash issues. It happened during save/load, Build mode, CAS, and sometimes in just normal gameplay. Out of the blue, the game would crash with error code (CE-34878-0) - the generic error code sent by the console. Now its happened again.
At that time, I was able to mitigate and eventually eliminate the problem by doing the following;
- Trimmed the number of savegames slots I was using to 2.
- I went through my inventories, and sold or deleted all items in stacks of 99+. Household inventory, Sim inventory, refrigerators, flower tables..all of them. Do I really NEED 5 DJ Candy figurines? lol The game does not like large stacks of items. i kept like 1 of each item - I had clone machine in case i needed more. Duplicato from RoM would work as well, I suspect. XD
- Removed custom items in BM. I had a bunch of 'Paint from Reference' objects on my walls. Also, photos. I got rid of most them.
- After each household was 'purged', I would do a save.
- Deleted or marked as 'Unplayed' any Sims I did not absolutely need. I dropped the number down to 12/150.
Anyway, that worked for me at that time. Am currently doing same while playing WITH sound on and Seasons uninstalled. So far, Build Mode, Savegame, and CAS seem to be working fine, with no issues. Game is way less laggy, also.
This latest update contained major changes, as did Seasons. Rental lots on every map? Sentiment system? Platforms? These are NOT trivial changes and it should have been tested far more thoroughly than it was, but I'll save that commentary for later. For now, EA needs to rollback to a pre-1.33 version. At least until they fix Seasons and this latest patch.
