New update broke game…. ?!

This morning I hit ignore for the update & it worked fine, then later my daughter started and downloaded the update…. NOW, the live mode is forever in PAUSE. You can’t push play. You have to wait like 30 minutes then it plays again just to go back to pause again. 
Can’t save, can’t travel, can’t do anything, just frozen sims that are still turning red from needs disappearing in paused mode. The game is unplayable. WHYYYYY does every update just break more things? What exactly is being fixed when it’s worse than it was before with every update? 

Is this it? The official end of sims forever? 
playatation… no cc… no mods, obviously. Don’t use debug, don’t download from gallery. 
(tried to upload to gallery recently and can’t do that either) Is there even any fixing this?
