Play Sims on XBOX but use PC as display & controls?
Hi,
I haven't played The Sims in a long time but I want to get back into the game. The main computer that I use is a fanless 12" Macbook which is great but it is a low powered machine that won't work with The Sims well.
I have an XBOX One which I have bought The Sims for, but the experience is painful and I just can't play it without a keyboard and mouse. So I have managed to find a redundant and pretty old Windows laptop that hasn't been used in years. Whilst it will run the game fine it probably isn't the ideal computer to play it on.
So my question is (and maybe a stupid one). Is it possible to use the Xbox to play the game and do all the intensive work but play it on the laptop which won't be doing the intensive work. Allowing me to play the game with a keyboard and mouse and also give me a display so I am not tethered to the main TV in the living room.
Again, this may be a stupid suggestion. But I know of things like XBOX anywhere.

If you have Windows 10 on the laptop, you may be able to use the Xbox Console Companion app, which will allow you to stream the game from your Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC.
As for only using the keyboard and mouse controls from the laptop through the Xbox One, there are some technical restrictions, namely that standard PC computer mice and keyboards have USB capability, to plug them directly in with the Xbox One. Laptops don't have that functionality to act as an individual peripheral.
I hope that helps!
