[PS4/XB1] Updating Graphics Settings Message

I'm finding this very frustrating. A few minutes into gameplay I get this message and then the graphics change. Depending on the lot I'm playing, sometimes it's very noticeable and sometimes it's only a slight change, but even so, I'd like the option to adjust settings myself rather than it just happening. I do have a large save file with lots of families and I recently renovated homes in several worlds. This made the auto adjusting worse and also my game crashes more than I'd like. I don't get why they couldn't make the game more stable. Why let us create elaborate builds on huge lots if the console/game can't handle it? Makes no sense. I have a moderately popular Instagram account for my sims and when the graphics dip too low it's impossible to get decent screenshots to share as the background and details are so blurry.
