This just happened to me on PS4. I was in the middle of using the seance table, levelling up my Medium Skill. Where does the game get off adjusting my settings on my behalf and without warning or consent. I know how setting work and I don't need to be treated like a child. I don't want the game hijacking my settings. If I want to sacrifice a bit of performance for better visuals, or vice verse, that's my prerogative as the player. If this is a "feature" it needs to go posthaste. Now I have to go back into my settings and figure out what was messed with and hope I can put it back. I've been playing with the same settings for over a year and this is the first time this has happened. Hopefully, it's the last.
Edit: I just realized console has no graphics settings. That's even worse. I have the PC version too, and I've only checked Pack Settings when I've added new content, so I didn't even realize we'd been robbed of that too.
This hasn't happened in my game for a couple of months but I altered my Xbox settings so that it can adjust my television settings. I hadn't seen that option before so I don't know if it's new on my Xbox Series S.

This just happened again for the 3rd time since I first posted here. I've never had this pop up in the approx. 2 years I've had the PS4 version and now in just a day or two it's interrupted gameplay 3 times. I can't imagine why it has to do it so often all of the sudden, or why it can't wait to do it on startup instead of in the middle of Simming. It's starting to get on my nerves.

Aaaand... fourth time. This needs to stop. My graphics don't need this much adjustment, and it shouldn't be happening in Live Mode. EVER! Ether give us manual graphics settings and let us deal with whatever comes of our choices, or create a single set of graphics settings that applies, one and done, automatically at startup according to the specs of the console. This constant readjustment is a sign of incompetence. Someone didn't know what they were doing when they implemented this system. Just let us do it ourselves so we can set and forget it.
