PS4 console player here. Always a console player, never a PC player.
As far as the new build mode update goes, the controls feel clunky and slow. I don't like having to move my mouse around, I preferred how it was before. I don't like that I have to manually click and drag the scroll bar. I don't like that the swatches don't pop up on their own when I click an item. I don't like that the UI stays up when I'm placing things. I basically dislike the entire thing. It makes building so much slower, less intuitive, and makes me not even want to build anymore.
It seems like this update is optimized for a keyboard and mouse, but I don't want to use those, I prefer my controller. It also seems like this update was put in place with PC players in mind, as I've never seen any console players complain about build mode. I've seen many PC players say that building on console is "hard mode", but I have never had trouble doing so, and neither have any console players I know. Once again, it seems like the sims team is favoring PC players over console players, and it is very disheartening.
If you MUST have an "easy mode" for PC players, can you at least put in an option to switch back to the old build mode?? That way they can have their PC build mode, and we can have our console build mode. Everything doesn't have to be exactly the same all the time. Different but equal is a good policy in this instance!
I won't be playing this game much, to be quite honest, unless this issue is addressed, as building was one of my favorite parts of the game, and now it isn't fun for me anymore. The new BM is uncomfortable and slow and completely kills my inspiration. I was very much looking forward to the new EP coming in March, but I probably won't be buying it, or any other content, if I can't have fun building in the game anymore. I don't see the point.
Please give me back my old build mode!!!!! I want to play Growing Together, and build family homes, and I very much can't see myself doing that with this new build mode!!!
