Well when my sims was in the middle of fishing I was transferring fish into his wife's inventory that he caught in order to keep things together but it reset the fish collection the next time I logged on...and Idk maybe it was just a weird glitch or something but idk... but thanks for all your help, next child my sim has will be named Juniper after the sweet player who helped me with my fishing collection 🙂

The new fish should be added to the collection when the sim moves into the new household. If it doesn't, you can put the fish on the ground and have the original household sim "put in inventory" from the menu on the fish.
The fish collection randomly resetting does sound like a weird glitch, the only time I ever had the issue was when using manage worlds to move sims into or out of my active household. The new move menu makes it easier to move sims in game through the "ask to move in" so you don't have to use manage worlds.
