I seem to have lost my ceiling controls in build mode. I don't know when this happened but the only command I get now is "remove floor". I don't know when this happened but it only became evident when ceiling coverings were added recently. I have mentioned it in a bug report but I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else on console as I know it's working for PC players.

The only way I can add a ceiling now is to place a fence around the gap to fill it in.

Edit: my ceiling controls are now working again after the latest patch to Console Version 1.79.25.

    I'm not completely sure. But I believe that we need to click on the room, that we are trying to modify the ceiling on. Once clicked? Hit up on the d-pad, it should bring you to the ceiling. Also, under the paint swatches? Before you chose what you want there is a few choices above the swatches. One of these is chosing to modify ceilings. So, unless there's a whole new bug, that I'm not aware of? This should set you straight, but I don't know, because I don't use the ceiling swatches, I believe it is unnecessary and a waste of programming space. I don't even know how to use the free camera mode, so I can't even see the ceilings. Just more useless junk clogging up the game, in my opinion. LOL.

    @madelf69 that's a different issue but thanks for your reply. This is to fill holes in the ceiling.
    If you want to be able to see the ceilings in live mode though, as your Sim is looking up you just press down on the right hand stick, hold it for a few seconds and then you will be able to see through your Sim's eyes so to speak. It gives you a whole new view.

    @simsplayer818 Thanks for the education. I'll try it next time I'm playing. Fill holes in the ceilings? It's a new glitch? I have seen that I can no longer use the Y button to change from one tile to the whole room, while modifying the walls. But I can use the Y button to change the flooring, from one tile to the whole room. The longer I play the more broken stuff that I find. Forget it if I purchase new DLCs, it gets even worse. And even Microsoft is doing the same thing. My Xbox's dashboard was working great, and they messed with that. What happened to the old saying and advice? If it isn't broken? Don't fix it. LOL.

    @madelf69 Yeah we did or do have a command to add ceiling sections but mine is gone, but I don't know when it vanished. It's fine for PC players so I don't know why mine is gone. But I've lost a few other functions as well that I've reported so I'm assuming it's connected.
    For anyone who adds the Horse Ranch pack the first person view is great for horse rides, particular in forests like Granite Falls. I should also mention that you end it the way you start it, also by holding down the right hand stick firmly until the camera angle changes back. If you're in a world with beautiful scenery it's really worth trying out. I couldn't wait to take horses to the forest and the experience was really transformed by seeing it in first person mode as if you are in a pony trekking simulation.
    I absolutely agree with you about the Xbox dashboard, I thought it was a bug at first! I restarted my Console as it just doesn't look right at all!

    Once again, I'm here to respectfully ask for the status of the console controller issues. I feel like this is not being mentioned at all, and I am very concerned it will be forgotten.

    Just a friendly reminder: If one plays with Gameplay and Build/Buy with a controller, they are likely to have problems or are entirely unable to play for 6 months. (The update that made Build mode unusable which started this whole thing was on January 31. We now have August 1.)

    I know of no other game or product this big and this expensive, that would be okay to have consumers being unable to use the product without acknowledging this more publicly and offering a compensation. To be honest, it's kind of sad to see this silence happening. 6 months, y'all.

    Page 27, Cade said, “They [the controls] are absolutely being looked into, nothing will be pushed live until we're confident that the path we choose benefits everyone.”

    I keep looking up Sims 4 Laundry List on google, when they have updates coming out they’ll put a list out of what’s going to be fixed. Last laundry list was July 14 for July 18 update. The current Sims 4  roadmap is for June-September, and we still have 2 kits that need to be released. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and be hopeful that we’ll get lucky and an update fixing the controls will come alongside one of those kits.

        So, far you're the only person that gave me some hope for fixes. Where exactly are these laundry lists that you mentioned? You're awesome in my book, either way. Page 27?.

    @lyndseynicole09 OK. I've read those before. They don't really state anything real useful. Mostly advertising from what I have seen. But maybe i can take a more in depth look?

    @lyndseynicole09 Is there any way to report a bug for this website specifically? I went to the laundry list that you mentioned. Clicked on a specific laundry list topic, it brought me to the bug report. When I see the bug post, while not logged in, I can see the ME TOO option and I get the option to reply. But when I log in? I can't reply to any post and the ME TOO option is not on the original post, but on the last post given. I did a search for this, but nothing relevant came up. Am I searching in the wrong spot? Is there a customer service for this website?
