Refurbished Xbox Crashes every time

Question

I just got a refurbished Xbox One for my new place. Only reason I got it was to play Sims. I set it up, installed game and tried to open up and play the game. I wait for the loading screens, then the fan on the Xbox blows like it’s over heating, but is not, then shuts off. What could be causing this to happen. I noticed this is happening with the other two games I bought as well. Could someone shed some light? I’m ready to return the Xbox to where I bought it from.

I've had many application crashes in my life, but never saw a game crash literally capable of shutting a console off.

I would try to uninstall everything, download it all over again, and then reinstall. If it shuts off again, well then the console is definitively the culprit.

Right now there's a lot of people reporting crashes while traveling on Xbox One, so you might want to wait for a fix and also check if an Xbox Series or even a PC could work for you. Good luck.

This doe sound like an overheating or ventilation issue with your Xbox- if this is happening with multiple games, I'd recommend you get in contact with Xbox support directly so they can explore some options with you.&nbsp;
