Sim won’t use publish book

My sim made a romantic novel and happily enough it was a best seller. Though when I click the mailbox and click the novel she will walk near the mailbox and then wave her hand in the air (something they do when they can’t perform a task.) I don’t know why she is doing this, it’s not like the mailbox is in a weird position or anything. It really sucks someone please help.
