Taking me back to the maps screen instead of loading my household.

Only got the game yesterday, worked fine the entire time I was on it. Today the game is lagging and it will not load either of my households, just keeps going back to the screen that shows where they can live. I've restarted my xBox and uninstalled and reinstalled the game but no luck. Would love some help on how to resolve this. Thanks!
