The Game Keeps Crashing When Saving (PS5)
I've been playing the Sims 4 on Sony PlayStation 5 since late December. It hasn't been unusual for the game to crash when traveling (or any other time a loading screen came up). I've gotten used to that so I made it a habit to always save the game before doing anything that would bring up a loading screen. The game did occasionally crash while just playing as usual without bringing up a loading screen, but that was rare.
However, since yesterday the game has now been crashing when I save the game. It first happened yesterday morning. I'd spent thirty or forty real life minutes crafting all the materials needed to make a Servo Bot, and after I'd finished, I went to save and the game crashed. After that I went out and came back some hours later, started playing again, and had another crash while saving.
So I went into the PS5's safe mode and tried repairing the console storage, clearing the cache, and rebuilding the database, and for a day or so it seemed to work and I didn't have any save crashes. I even started saving each time as a new save file rather than overwriting an existing one because I read some say that it was better to do so. But then today, it happened again twice. I even tried repairing the console storage, clearing the cache, and rebuilding the database again and still I got a crash while saving.
Now to note it doesn't happen every single time that I save. But it has been happening enough now that I am tense every time I save the game due to not knowing whether it will crash or not, as losing progress is becoming really annoying and making me not want to play the game anymore until there's some reliable fix.
I have all of the expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs and some of the kits, but I didn't install anything new right before this started happening. The last new thing to be installed before these save-crashes began happening was that latest update that went out a few days ago.
