Where did my save files go???

I've been playing The Sims 4 on my Xbox One since 2021. I have never deleted the game, and the last time I moved it from an internal hard drive to an external one was 2 years ago. The Sims 4 just got a huge update. I already re-agreed to the new User Terms when they dropped a few months ago. When I turned my game on today, I was met with what I can only describe as a factory reset game. I had to re-agree to the Terms, reset my screen's "Safe Zone" or borders or whatever its called. I also had 0 games to access. A save I've had for 5 years is gone. All of my WIP houses are gone. I have whatever I managed to save to the gallery, and that's it. Where did my save files go? How is it that my active saves are gone, but my gallery is intact. The game also treated every Add-On like I'd never seen it before (marking them with a red dot), even though I have 43 of them. Did this new event do something? Did the old user agreement say something about having the ability to wipe my saves whenever EA and Maxis felt like it? What is going on?
