Windenburg World Not Fully Loading/Loading Incorrectly

System info - Standard Xbox One, black - Game is Downloaded, not in disk form - Xbox has the ability to use disks, however - use game using My Home Xbox setting, my mother has her own XBOX that she uses all day for some reason, and in order for us to use this current one with the apps and games she bought while she uses the other one with her account, we have to set it to My Home Xbox - there were 5 accounts on the Xbox, including her's, but since I tried resetting it a few hours ago, there's only mine - TS4 would also crash on the other Xbox, but not as often, and I've never had a problem with Windenburg not loading correctly on this Xbox until this year (switched to this one late last year) - All Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs, and Kits (except for one kit) - no Custom Content or Mods

Problem - The game/console seems to have problems loading up my household's Windenburg lot. It's become more and more of a problem. The crashes have gotten much more frequent, and various world textures have time and time again loaded in black, as seen in the files attached. It's become much more frequent after the update that changed the Main Menu's appearance to the current one.

Solutions attempted - Resetting Xbox one console (removing accounts and local data, but without uninstalling games, which I might try if there's no other solution, but I hope I don't have to), Deleting Local Save Data, Restarting Console, Reinstalling TS4, * off Console Completely, Turning off and on again (via Console button), Checking for Updates, Installing any updates (Console or Game updates), Unplugging Console strategy (the one where you leave it unplugged for 30-60 seconds and plug it back in), Setting Console to offline, Deleting other Save Games via "Load Game", Deleting Console Cache, Closing background apps (if there are any)

Temporary Workarounds (some or all of these no longer work for me) - Turning off keeping games Up-to-date on Console, Turning off Automatic download for Sims Packages, Turning off Check on Startup for Sims Packages, Starting game from "Load Game" rather than pressing "Continue"

When it's happened - Only in Windenburg Lot, When pressing "Continue" (crash during loading), leaving vacation (crash during loading or unloaded world - 50/50 in regards to either), traveling to another lot (crash - happens less often), Starting game via "Load Game" (crash during loading or unloaded world, crashes less often than starting via "Continue", using an Auto-Saved game caused crashes and breaks more often than using a manual saved game, both would still have breaks and/or crashes)

Suspected Causes - Outdated/broken drivers on Xbox (I'm not sure how to fix those), New TS4 Update, Corrupted game/file, broken Console, Overheated Console, Background Processes (I always close all apps in background, so if there's any others I can stop, I don't know how to end them), Low Storage Space (? I don't know why this would be an issue because I have 117.9GB free and only use 67.7% for other games and apps (I have siblings 😒))

I hope there's a solution that doesn't require taking my Console apart, resetting it entirely (and removing all games and/or save data), or buying a new one, but if those (or one of those) are the only solution, then 🤷 oh well, I'll just try those.

If this is only happening for you in Windenburg, it may very well be related to the fruit apocalypse happening in your inventory 😅 At least we know your Sim will never go hungry!

Let me know if you're seeing some improvement on this once you've managed to clear out your inventory a bit- I know this can be super time-consuming since they need to be deleted one at a time!

I finally cleared the entire inventory. Unfortunately it still crashes, but it crashes a LOT less now. That's one issue out of the way 😅 I'm still not sure how all of that fruit got there, but it's gone now.

I still can only play the household when I load their lot through Build Mode from the World Map first, which is annoying, but at least I can actually play them now.

I've also been playing offline since and during the battle of the grapes 😂, and I'm a little scared to go online just in case there might be an issue correlated with that too, but I'll try it and get back when I find out.

Well. My sims are stuck on vacation and can't get back because everytime they try to return back, the game cuts off.

The previous method that I'd use where I'd load their house via Build Mode first no longer works. It's gone back to crashing on the loading screen returning to the World Map. Switching between offline and online doesn't help. I've cleared the household inventory. I've made sure the game's up to date, my console too.

    I don't know what's going on 😭‼️

I'm glad we've at least got some improvement since the grapes of wrath have now been cleared out! Is the crashing only happening with one family/save in particular?

This persistent crashing and loading problem, yes. I've had many problems with crashing with other households and worlds in the past, but not this bad. Recently, no other problems at all. I don't know if it's because those have been patched or because I just haven't been playing other households recently.

The household I have now is a household I've had for around 5 in-game generations now (Their lifespans are set to long, and I was using this household to try and get the Legacy Player and Legendary Legacy achievements 😳 or the old ones at least. Apparently they've decided to upgrade the achievements or something because these are not the ones I remember 😭‼️). It's a slightly old world, around a year or two old now and it's been around 6 months since I've come back to play this one.

I've had problems with this household's lot in particular in this save in the past, but it's gotten worse with time. It might either be with age, or as the game updates and evolves. It was just crashes, I'm pretty sure, and it wasn't just on this Xbox, because I had started the world on the other one (a white Xbox One S). There were crashes ever since their ancestors moved onto that lot. And maybe one problem with the world not loading correctly, but a simple restart of the game would fix it. And it would often crash during Live Mode, not while loading in. It doesn't do that anymore though.

So yeah, it's been persistent in this lot. The specific name for the lot is "Proprietor's Square" in the "Olde Platz" neighborhood of Windenburg, if that helps. With other branches of the family in other Worlds and Households in the same save, I haven't had any problems, so I don't think it's the family itself or the age of the save, but it might be. I'm not an expert 😅.

I did delete the save and then save a new one multiple times. I don't know if it does anything but my mother says it fixes some of her problems so that's why I tried that.

Okay, this may also be happening due to your save file being fairly old. I'd recommend uploading this family into your library in The Gallery, starting a brand new save file, and placing this family from the library into a new save.

Let's see if this clears the crashing up for you.

Alright, so, I haven't tried placing the family in a new world yet, but I have created a new world. I've created a new world, moved into the same lot as the old Household, and had no issues. Loading time was faster, even.

However, I was like << I really don't want to create a new world every time it gets old.. >> so I started thinking. I remembered that the issue only took place in that specific neighborhood. I had no issues with crashing or worlds with broken textures anywhere else.

So, I was pondering other reasons why this particular problem was taking place. Random thought, << What if I bulldozed my house? Maybe it's the house. >> And so I saved, because my house is filled with generations of precious items that I don't want to lose, and I bulldozed the house. Mind you, this house has grown a lot over the generations. It had a, maybe, 7×7 tiled garden, a basement, a second floor, a lot of outdoor decoration, and oh so many pillars on it. Like, a lot (because the regular Windenburg walls weren't good for the environment, so I made my own).

Anyways, bulldozing the house fixed the crashing problem (and maybe the texture problem, I have to keep experimenting), but now I'm not sure what to do, or what specific part of my house was causing the problem.

I don't think it's the size, because it wasn't that big. The household inventory was now cleared, except for like 4 crop plants and some old "vintage" StrangerVille items from their little adventure a few generations ago. It might've been the amount of crop plants, but that's silly. How am I supposed to be a farmer if my game can't handle some darn plants 🥺. It might've been the amount if pillars, but it wasn't THAT much. Just more than someone would usually place, maybe. We also had a chest filled with a lot of stuff, so it could've been that. Or the abundance of pictures they have. All I know is I gotta build them a new house now..

I'm planning on placing their house from the Library into the new world to see if it's actually my house entirely or if my world is just on it's deathbed and needs to be laid to rest 💔.

I built a new house, and after putting everything that we owned, specifically (like family photos, Collectables, chests, paintings, etc), I went to go Manage Worlds again to play. It crashes.

At this time, I'm thinking it must be the pillars. However, other Lots with similar amounts of pillars didn't have the problem as frequent as this specific Lot. So now I'm looking around the house to see what else could be causing the problem. Maybe the photos? There's actually a lot of framed photos (framed by the photo frame with 3 spaces that comes with Moschino Stuff). There's also 3 digital photo frames (from Moschino as well) with around <100 photos in it. I decide to place those in the Household Inventory, because I don't want to delete them, of course. I go to Manage Worlds. Viola, no crash. I try again. No crash.

Now I'm like << This makes sense, but it's also ridiculous, because now I can't put all those pictures on the walls. And it doesn't make sense, because the other lots in those neighborhoods were experiencing crashes, recently as well, and they aren't anymore. >> And there's still like 6 photos on the wall, without frames, in the teenage son's room. I'm thinking it was the digital frame.

I'm also thinking that there's probably more factors to said problems, and all of the factors working together were making it worse, so getting rid of those factors are increasing game quality. But in doing so, it's decreasing gameplay quality. So, what I'm going to do is test to see if it is my save, as you said, specifically, or if it's the game itself (or my XBOX). So I'm going to add the old house in all it's glory, and the Household, into a New World. I'm going to test it out the same way I did with the Lot in this save to see if I experience any crashes. If I don't, I'm going to be real sad, let me tell you. Because that means I'm going to have to start an entirely new world, and I'm not going to like it 🙍.

So far, I've been playing (no tests done yet) without a single crash, but I travel to my local Vet (in Windenburg, of course 😜) and I notice that there's some black where it shouldn't be. Oh my, the loading issue has moved to a different neighborhood. It's not that prevalent, but some of the textures were missing, and one of the more expensive Mini-Fridges (from Discover University) were invisible.

It was less noticable this time, so I didn't notice right away. I'm definitely thinking the pillars (from Get Together) are causing it. This lot never ever had this problem until I added the pillars.

I'm so glad we're starting to see some improvement with your game, thanks so much for keeping me updated!

Would you be able to attach a screenshot to your post of the black pixilation and missing texture you're seeing for me please? Could you also tell me which pillar you're using, and how many you've got on your lot?

Get Together : "Fingerling Pillar"'- 15 Outside (Black), 5 Inside (Redish-Brown)

All not glitched or broken, texture(s) entirely there.

Get Together : "Experienced Pillar" - 75 Outside (Black), 2 Inside (Black)

All glitched or broken, texture(s) not there, pitch black.

Discover University : "Sleek n' Steel Mini Fridge" was invisible last time this happened, after testing this time, it's not.

Possible Fruit Bowl on coffee table - missing textures, shadows visible. Looks like Base Game "Fine Bowl of Fruit", so it could possibly be that, but it doesn't look like it when compared side to side.

Get Together : "Windwoahh" (😂) - partially disappears if I zoom out too far, as seen in one attached image, along with background rocks with missing textures, and floors outdoors with missing textures as well. No missing textures inside, besides the following (all appear a very dark black) :

    Get Together "Experienced Pillar" (Black)

Base Game "Campanulate Ceiling Lamp" (2nd Swatch (possibly))

    StrangerVille "Unorganized Documents"

Cats & Dogs "The Woven Wonder" (All Swatches except the first one, which makes it disappear entirely)

Laundry Day Stuff "LaundryMaid Galvanized Bucket" (1st Swatch)

One attached image shows a close-up side by side comparison of the two pillars.

One attached image shows close-up side by side comparison of mysterious table object and Base Game fruit bowl.

I hope this is useful 😅
