Well, here it is almost a month later, and STILL those of us with Sims 4 Cats and Dogs and Sims 4 bundle that came on disc are unable to properly purchase just the My First Pet Stuff pack. Really no excuse for not having this fixed by now. Of course, I opened a support case with EA and they referred me to Microsoft, as they run the Xbox Store, and they referred me back to EA. Typical pass-the-buck with no help...
Hi @MiamiHeat2008 @FattedBoot612 ,
This issue is related to The Sims 4 Plus Cats & Dogs disc version, which is not allowing the purchase of the pack for disc owners properly.
Maxis has been working with Microsoft to resolve this and allow disc owners to purchase My First Pet Stuff.
This process is ongoing but we will keep you informed as we get updates.
Thanks,
-Mai

I'm also having this problem with this particular pack. Cats and dogs came with my Sims 4 game, and up until recently, I had the option to purchase my first pets. But now whenever I look it says it's unavailable in red. I'm playing on Xbox one.

Has this been resolved yet for Xbox One?
My daughter has Sims 4 / Pets & Dogs bundle on disc. She wants to buy My First Pet stuff pack. But the pack is only available as a bundle with Pets & Dogs. I will not let her purchase Pets & Dogs / My First Pet bundle, because this is a ridiculous waste of money as she already owns the more expensive Pets & Dogs expansion pack.
I know and understand the excuse that the Micorsoft/Xbox store (and Sony Playstations) does not register the ownership of disc downloaded content, because it can only register online downloads from their store.
Simple solution, offer the My First Pet stuff pack as an individual download, not only as a bundle. Just as you do for the PC version.
I look forward to reading EA's response.

- PoptartJuniper5 years agoHero (Retired)@SimGRExbx1 I've merged your post into the XBox thread for this issue. I do not know if this was ever resolved for disc owners. There's a way to purchase the pets stuff if you own the digital version but I don't know anything about this version. I will escalate this again to see if there's any more info for you.

Thanks, @PoptartJuniper, for passing this on.
I checked and have this info:
Microsoft (Xbox) have changed their stores and no longer offer My First Pet Stuff or Cats & Dogs as a standalone buying option. They are only available as a bundle.
On the PlayStation Store, though, it looks like you can buy My First Pet Stuff separately.
Unfortunately, there are no updates yet about the disk versions. ☹️ But I'll follow up on this.
I get that this is disappointing for you @SimGRExbx1 so I have passed on your feedback.

Thankyou for getting back to me. Seems a strange business choice by Microsoft/Xbox, considering that Sony/Playstation stores and the PC have My First Pet available as a stand alone product. Unless Microsoft are banking on naive kids wasting their money on something they already own - a real possibility if they game without parent supervision. It would be that kind of business model that gives gaming a bad image, especially as the news media & politicians have been looking into how many games aimed at the younger generation now push additional pay-for content as their central profit stream!
