Xbox connected to Xbox live but Sims 4 won't connect to the net

My Xbox one is connected to the net and Xbox live, but Sims 4 will not connect. You click the connect bubble in the game and it never connects. I have disconnected and reconnected to the network and even tried restarting the Xbox to no avail. Any suggestions? Looking for some answers as this is my child's game and I am trying to help out with a few of the features.
