Did you end up getting somewhere with this error code? I got the game for my son for Christmas. It doesn't launch - just goes to the Sims 4 screen then crashes, then I get the 'update required' error code. Have done hard reset, uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times.

You can wait for it to clear up, or try power cycling your XBox. If it's an issue with the XBox server, you will have to wait for that to be resolved.
Thank you. It's been 5 days so I thought anything would have been resolved, but will hang tight and hopefully can fix it soon (I have power cycled and that took me a bit further to the EA screen but then crashed).
- @5wedkqwfh6k4 You can always try uninstalling the game and reinstalling to see if maybe something was corrupted in the game files. A reinstall will fix corruption. Check also your console updates, they should be automatic on XBox but maybe something is hanging or didn't update properly.
