🛠️ Creating a symlink in macOS to store the Sims 4 folder on an external drive

I recently got an external hard drive to play Sims 4 on my Mac. I followed Bluebellflora's step by step to set it up and it ran perfectly fine with all my mods and saves. Today I tried playing, but I got an error saying Sims 4 was already running. I checked my full disk access folder, I made sure the drive was properly plugged in, I repaired my game through origin. Everything seems to be the way it's supposed to be but it won't let me play. I'm not sure what else to try, especially since I was able to play just a few days ago.
