This is why I asked if you have an adapter. If you aren't using a direct cable USB-C to USB-C or Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt the connection will be slow and laggy. If you are having to plug the external drive cable into an adapter and then into your Mac the speed will only be as fast as the slowest connection, probably in the adapter.

@Bluebellflora Oh gotcha makes sense.. whats you're recommendation for the best ssd or hard drive for this?

    @Bluebellflora Okay! Thanks so much. One last question though, i downloaded a couple of new cc and it doesn't seem to show up in game?

    Don't know I'm afraid. Before launching the game open a Finder window showing the contents of the drive and give it a minute to populate and load the data before launching Origin. Make sure the CC is properly installed in the Mods folder etc. If the game is loading saves it should be loading CC if the CC is in the Mods folder.
