Hello, I am having some issues after setting up my external hard drive. I moved a copy of my game and all my cc to my hard drive but now all of my cc is gone and I’ve lost all data of my game. Does anyone know how to help or have any insight? I am using macOS

You can't just move Sims 4 folders to the external and expect them to work, you have to create a symlink. See the opening post on page 1.- 3 years ago
Hello, I am having the same problem and cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix this on a Mac.
I have gotten an external drive for my game and finally figured out how to move all my game stuff; expansion packs etc onto it, and my game works great and all the packs are there also. the custom content that i had previous to the external drive also works perfectly. However, now that i downloaded new custom content today and put them in my mods folder that's on my external drive, they're not coming up at all. I am very new to all of this, usually i just turn the game on and play, but since after a while my game started to run slower and slower i got the drive and all of this turned into a thing hahahah. i tried to do the link thing that everyone has discussed, but I genuinely do not understand where to even begin, especially because all the tutorials are for Windows. Any help for this issue on a mac laptop? I've obviously done something wrong here, and like i said i am very new to the technical side of this here, so any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you!!
and to get my stuff onto my drive i just reinstalled it all there, and then just copied and pasted my sims files onto the drive also, and all works great. it is just new custom content that will not show up at startup at all. (yes i've ticked the thing in settings).
