What Electronic Arts file and what USB file are you referring to? You cannot place anything inside a file because it is just that, a file. Do you mean a folder? And if so, what is the exact location of this folder? And do you mean a USB drive? Please make sure to be very precise as it makes helping a lot easier and gets you back into your game quicker.

Apologies, yes that’s what I meant. I attached a photo of what my USB folder looks like, does it look right ? I also attached a photo of the disk utility on my computer incase you needed to see that

Thanks. So you're not referring to the game installation, you're attempting to create a symlink for the Electronic Arts folder that contains your user data in your Documents folder, is that correct?- 9 months ago
Yes I think so ! When I did the process of transferring my sims data onto the hard drive I was able to move the electronic arts file onto the USB folder through a command you had on the website. It’s just that my sims game won’t launch and I have no clue what to do to fix that … any suggestions would be really helpful!! Thank youuu 🤞🏻

The game installation via Origin/EA App is nothing to do with your user data folder and creating a symlink.
I've merged your posts into the symlink thread.
Trash that white file on the external drive as it is a broken symlink and start again. The symlinked Electronic Arts folder should be in your local Documents folder, not on the external drive. Your Electronic Arts folder containing your Sims 4 folder (your user data) should be on the external and then you create a symlink to it in the Documents folder. Looks like you have done it the wrong way round.
