I just transferred my game and its files to an external hard drive from Origin to save space so I could download the EA App. Now on the game my save files are gone. The hard drive is linked to the Sims game, and my packs and hours played are there but not my save files. I repaired each of my packs and game but they still didn’t pop up and after logging in again. Is there a way to check the location path for my save files to make sure it’s pulling from the right place? If so, what would I type in? I also made sure my saves were in the hard drive, and they were.

Here is an easy way to find out which folder your game is using: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

The only way to store your user data (the Sims 4 folder that contains your saves etc.), on an external drive and to have the game read it is by creating a symlink to the Documents folder on your internal drive. See the opening post on page 1 for further help and explanation. This is completely separate from the actual game installation which can be changed in EA App.
