I have a MacBook that I mainly use to play The Sims 4. Before the most recent expansion pack released (Adventure Awaits), I decided to move the game from my computer's hardrive to an external hardrive with much bigger storage capacity. My poor computer had no leftover storage thanks to the sizable files of The Sims 4. I created an EA folder for the game itself and a Documents folder where I copy pasted all of my CC and save files. I even used the EA app launcher to uninstall the game on my computer and reinstall it onto the hardrive. However, when I opened the game after going through all that effort, the game launched like a brand new version, with no saved files whatsoever. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the game made a new folder in my computer's documents folder rather than using the documents folder on the external hardrive. Is there a way to get the game to read and save files within the Documents folder on the external hardrive rather than the computer's Documents folder? I do not see a way to do it through the game, or EA app and I would really like to considering how much space the documents take up.
For the game installation change the download location to the external in EA App > Settings > Download
For your TS4 user data folder you need to create a symlink. See the opening post in this thread I've moved your post to for further help and instruction.
