2019 Macbook Pro 13" run Sims 4?

Hello,

This question may have already been asked but how well will the newest base Macbook Pro 13" run the Sims 4 with 3-4 extra expansions and a couple GPs? I was thinking of getting one as right now I currently have an early 2014 13" Air which has been great, but I have Never tried running sims on it as I know Airs are not meant for any sort of gaming. I would also be using it for other light work from home stuff like internet and microsoft office but nothing thats really demanding. At this point I am thinking Mac because I love how they look and it's been super user-friendly for me.

Here are the specs from the website:

1.4GHz quad-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz)

Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645

8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory

128GB SSD storage

I wasn't sure about this one because of the processor only being 1.4GHz but it's a quad-core and it has the turbo boost. Does anyone have any insight on how it runs on this model?

Thank you!

It will run ok but if you can the 16" would be much better as it has dedicated graphics and will still be able to run on all high settings in a few years. The 128GB SSD is on the small side but you could run the game off an external drive. 8GB RAM is also pretty standard now, it would be better to go to 16GB RAM to future-proof yourself if you can.

@Bluebellflora Thank you for the response! Having dedicated graphics makes sense. By running "ok" do you mean it would run smoothly on lower graphics settings? I'm not too worried about playing on the highest settings as I only play very occasionally. I mostly use my laptop for work, school, and streaming music/videos.
That's a good point with the storage and RAM as well. I also would probably adjust either one so that it would overall last at least as long as my Air did.

Yes 🙂 You will be able to play well though and if high graphics isn't that important to you and you won't be playing all the time, you'll be fine. Apple have significantly improved them with the quad core CPUs and they now have dual fans for better cooling too.
