Can I get sims 4 on my MacBook Air?

I already have Sims 4 on my Xbox one but I want to get it on my MacBook Air, Its a 13 inch, 2017 model with a memory of 8 GB 1600 MHz The intel graphics are 6000- 1536 MB! I want to know whether the game will work well before I buy it and whether I can transfer my worlds. I'm not to worried about my worlds they aren't that great I just more or less want to know if I will be getting my moneys worth if I get it on Mac??? Please reply it will really help me!!!

An external drive would make no difference. Trust me, it will get hot. The game places high demands on the processor and graphics chip. All Macs have fans (apart from the new super slim MacBooks), MacBook Airs have single fans, 15" MacBook Pros have dual fans and much more powerful hardware and they still get hot. Just make sure you elevate it 🙂

I'm not saying you won't be able to run it, you just won't be able to run it on max settings with all packs installed, lag free.

Another user posted asking the same question but on a newer MacBook Air. The answer is the same though so I'll c/p my reply to them here:

It may be able to run it but how well is down to your expectations. MacBook Airs are absolutely not designed for gaming. They have extremely low powered Intel graphics and will get hot when playing due to the hardware working overtime to keep up with the game requirements.

You will not be able to transfer over any saves or content from your console game to the Mac.

Thanks would it be better to use a hard drive when running the game or would that not affect it? Also I have a fan on my Mac so it doesn’t get as hot
