Well, typically on a macbook the electronic arts folder is found in the documents tab when you open finder. If you've deleted that then you will need to delete and reinstall both the EA app and the Sims 4 game as there will be no other way to recover that if you've fully deleted it.
Also i'm like 90% sure if you've already installed mods they wouldn't be gone just because of that.

This is categorically NOT true. There is absolutely no need to uninstall and reinstall EA App and The Sims 4. When you launch the game it looks in Documents for an Electronic Arts folder containing The Sims 4 folder to load your user data. If there is no folder there it simply creates one. Rose7215 please do not waste your time uninstalling and reinstalling EA App and the game.

Mods are installed in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. If the OP trashed that folder then the Mods are gone.
Also to add on I’m wondering if it isn’t showing up becuase I decided to download it to my external drive which technically doesn’t contain a documents folder. If the solution is redownloading it to my internal drive then I might just give up
