EA games folder not connecting to game (the sims)

Hi,

I really hope someone can help me with this!!
I recently got my MacBook repaired after a minor spillage accident and they had to wipe my entire computer in the process.

I had fortunately saved all of my documents in the cloud and managed to get them back in their rightful place,

so I still have my saved games, mods etc in the EA games folder on my computer.

I tried to open my game up earlier today and all of my previous gameplays etc are gone - I basically have to start all over again,

and it seems like my EA games folder isn't connecting with the game itself.

Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix it?

Thank you In advanced - Cat x.

    Hi, thanks for replying!
    All of the saved files, mods, everything is in the documents folder and where it should be, but is still not connecting with the game for some reason.

    @OFFICALERA

    Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:

    find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null

    After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.

    @OFFICALERA

    Thanks!

    This is where the game will load saves and other user data from:

    /Users/NAME/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4

    But you also have data here where the game will not load data from:

    /Users/NAME/Documents/Dokumenter/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4

    Maybe your saves are in that second location? You need to move them over to the first location.

    You're also using iCloud Drive so make sure you have optimised storage disabled otherwise at some point all your data will start getting pushed to the cloud from your Mac and then none of your saves and other user content will load - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Saves-CC-Mods-or-Library-items-disappeared/m-p/10242133#M45493
