Error- Unable to start due to missing game data.

Hello

I have downloaded the legacy edition and deleted it and re-downloaded it multiple times but no matter what I do, I keep getting the same error message. Can you please assist? The error message is below:

Unable to start:

Unable to start due to missing game data. Please download The Sims 4 Legacy Edition from Origin.

@jorienxh Your Mac doesn't support Metal2, although your software does. Your graphics driver doesn't and that's why you need the Legacy Edition.
I think everybody gets this download, if they need it or not.

@SJDower @bassbunny5 @toby54321 @lhbroderick Your Macs are 2012 or newer, try to upgrade your MacOS to Mojave or Catalina. I've seen that solves it quite a few times.

@lhbroderick What version of macOS are you on? If you move the Electronic Arts folder out of the Documents Directory (say, to the Desktop), does the game start working?

Which version of Origin do you guys have? I had earlier a problem and i must have install a old version, maybe its this the Problem now?

Hi everyone!

When you open The Sims 4 game details page, then select the Extra content tab and scroll down, does Legacy Edition show as installed for you?:

@EA_Mai I downloaded the legacy thing but there’s a pop up saying: Initialization error at start up

@liaaa97 Does your error message also ask you to download Legacy Edition? Is it exactly the same error message?:

Edited: Ah, I see - sounds like the other one, could you please take a look at that thread and try some of the suggestions in there?

The legacy is installed. Now this comes up: Initialization error at start up [135dec40:90f69cf:00000075:495f32a0]
