Fix "Unknown Error Occurred" Sims 3 Mac Origin

So I have Sims 3 as well as a couple of expansion packs and custom content. I've had these for several months but now my game has started acting weird. It would get to the page where you pick your family and it would say "Disc Authorization Failure, contact customer service". I read a few forums and they recommended uninstalling the games and reinstalling them using origin. So I did as instructed and now the game won't even load and it'll say "an unknown error has occurred". I've tried everything, restarting my computer, checking for viruses, deleting my custom content, etc. Nothing works! I've had my friend log into my origin account and it works on her computer but not mine... Please help! I'm really frustrated.

    Hi @SRR2012,

    Can you provide more info about your Mac?

    Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your desktop and select About This Mac. Please provide the following information (you may need to click on "More Info" depending on what operating system you're running:

    - Operating System (Version)
    - Mac model
    - Processor
    - Memory (RAM)
    - Graphics

    - Are you running any antivirus?
    - Do you have Time Machine/Spotify/Dropbox or similar running?

    @fons_garmo

    It's a MacBook Pro (mid 2012)

    it's running on macOS Sierra (Version 10.12.1)

    Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz

    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

                     Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

    I do have spotify on my MacBook but it never has seemed to cause a problem with my game before.

    My roommate also recently downloaded Maleware to see if a virus was causing the problem. It found 1 virus and we removed it but it still doesn't work.

    @SRR2012,

    Uninstall everything from the Mac. Download and install The Sims 3 via Origin and, right after doing that, install The Sims 1.67 Super Patch manually, you can get it here: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/549552/official-ea-download-links-for-the-sims-3-cumulative-manual-update
