Game Crashes When Trying to Load Save Files After 10/6/2020 update - Mac

Product: The Sims 4
Platform: Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.67.45.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Unsure
What happens when the bug occurs? The game crashes every time I open the game and try to load my save files. It doesn't crash if I start a new game but it will crash if I return to the main menu and try to load my previous saves.
What do you expect to see? Launch the game, load save files, and play it full time until I save and quit.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Ever since the new October 6th, 2020 update the game crashes whenever I try to load my prior save files. Removed all the custom content, repaired the game, deleted the localthumbcache.package, nothing is helping, it still crashes and loads extremely slow before crashing.

Have you tried loading each game in a clean Sims 4 folder? Move your existing one to the desktop then launch the game so it creates a new folder. Now move one save into the newly created Sims 4 > saves folder and see if you can load it.

@Bluebellflora I tried that but it keeps crashing whenever I launch the game with the save file saved in the newly-created "Saves" folder.

Thanks for the save 🙂 It crashes for me too unfortunately even when I just click Load Game. I've asked @crinrict to test it too as she is on a PC (this checks whether it's solely a Mac issue).

Could you attach the most recent lastCrash report from your Sims 4 folder to a post here too please?

Ok. I managed to load it by pressing the Play button. I loaded the Stafford family ok but when I went to save it crashed. I then moved out the household and placed them on an empty lot in Brindleton Bay. I loaded the lot fine but it crashed again when I tried to save.

I did get the message that some CAS items were missing, is this the CC you use?

@Bluebellflora Yea. I downloaded the pufferhead stuff cc pack which I was using in the kids' room

@BearGamerGirl I updated my computer and now the game doesn’t freeze when I try to save.

@Bluebellflora Sorry for some reason when I initially refreshed this page it did not load this message and I'm just now seeing it. I've attached the last crash exception file here. I'm not very tech-savvy so please let me know if this is the wrong file.

I don't see an attachment. You can copy and paste the text from the lastCrash report into a post here if you like instead of attaching it. You can open the file with TextEdit.
