I can open the ea app but when I try to launch the sims the ea app just shrinks down and then reopens

Valyfairy Does your computer run Windows or macOS? Does it help to remove the Mods folder? You don't need to save your progress; this is just a test.

  I’m on Mac I will try to remove the mods folder!
