Game is making desktop ui bigger and glitchy for some reason

So earlier I accidentally backed up everything to the iCloud Drive. I managed to recover everything thankfully and I’m slowly adding things back in.

After putting my mods back in, the game for some reason makes my desktop ui bigger and somewhat glitchy with my folders that are on the desktop. It still does this after removing my mods as well.

Any reason as to why and how to fix this? This has never happened to me before and I have no idea where to begin to fix it.

My saves and tray files are also backed up. However, I’m about 2 updates behind. Is my game not being updated causing this possibly?

Like I said, I’m at a loss for what to do as I’ve never had this happen before. How do I fix this? Is it even fixable?

Looks like a simple resolution thing to fix. Are you using an external display or built-in MacBook/iMac display? Have you trashed the Options.ini file in the Sims 4 folder to reset the in-game settings?

I’ve not trashed the Options.ini file. Will that reset itself if I do? I also just play on my MacBook, I don’t use an external display.

Perfect, thank you. I’ll let you know if that works.

Another thing I forgot to mention this with my mods in my initial message (wrote it while super stressed). After I put them (my mods and cc) back in, besides the whole graphics glitch with my desktop folders and tabs, I also couldn’t get past the main menu screen.

When I removed them, I could. And after putting them back in with the removal of about 1,000 files, I could still get past the main menu screen.

So is it possible that I corrupted some files with the backup and would need to redownload them? Like I said before, I’ve not updated my game for the September 18th and October 2nd updates, so I don’t know if playing a non-updated game could be causing it as well.

EDIT—I managed to fix it! Thank you so much for your help 🫶

Update—I've deleted the Options.ini file. However, when I open the game, the game (while open) still enlarges stuff open on my desktop and make my folders glitchy as you can see. And when I close the game, it reverts back to normal.

Is there another way this could be fixed?

Great. Yes that will happen when you play in fullscreen and is normal. Play in windowed mode instead.

For Mod issues you should seek help in the Mods forum although if I were you I would simply redownload the problematic ones if they're compatible with your game version number.
