Haven’t been able to play sims for a year due to files not working

I haven’t been able to play Sims for over a year because I’m not able to figure out what happened to my files. I updated my Sims one time and the next thing I knew I went back on there and everything was completely deleted. All my Sims were gone all the years that I’ve spent working on all my Sims families were completely gone. I tried to re-download Sims and all my packs and it literally never lets me download them. It always says I’m out of space on my computer so I can never play or save anything cause it always ends up deleting it or saying I don’t have any space like I literally don’t know what to do to get my Sims back. I’m not able to even play Sims. like I’m not even sure how to get the files back and like download it back to my computer because every time I download it it doesn’t work or it doesn’t completely download it right or it gets lost somewhere. I can’t put mods my game keeps crashing like it just feels like it’s not working at all like the whole thing. i’ve tried absolutely everything to fix it, and it got to the point where I don’t even go on my computer anymore because it irritates me that I spent so much money on Sims for it to just not work.
