I fixed it. I used Microsoft edge browser and went to the origin page and downloaded an updated client. https://www.dm.origin.com/mac/download is the link to the download.
Why is the file not on the official origin site?

The link is fine and is a direct download of the .dmg from the Origin site. If you don't want to use it, make sure you're using updated versions of Safari and Firefox to download, not Chrome. The issue is some browsers not properly recognising that macOS 11 is legit. and looking for macOS 10.x.Thanks for the clarity @Bluebellflora . We may give it a try.
Yep, that linked worked. The household is excited to have Sims back.
