MIRROR REFLECTION BUG Mac

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.85.203.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Backyard Stuff, Bowling Night, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Cook Kitchen Stuff, Discover University, Fitness Stuff, Get Famous, Get Together, Holiday Celebration Pack, Island Living, Kids Room Stuff, Laundry Day Stuff, Moschino Stuff, Movie Hangout Stuff, Parenthood, Perfect Patio Stuff, Realm of Magic, Seasons, Spa Day, Tiny Living, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Eco Lifestyle, Nifty Knitting, Snowy Escape, Throwback Fit Kit, Country Kitchen Kit, Bust the Dust Kit, Dream Home Decorator, Cottage Living, Fashion Street Kit, Incheon Arrivals Kit, Blooming Rooms Kit, Modern Menswear Kit, My Wedding Stories
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By placing a mirror anywhere (walls, floor, outdoors, indoors, etc.)
What happens when the bug occurs? When placing a mirror anywhere, the reflection is bugging and glitching. In the first attached photo, the reflection is weird, glitching, and it's not what it's supposed to look like. In the second photo, the mirror is see through and not reflective. All types of mirrors have the problem seen in the first photo (their reflections are weird, sometimes it's blue or will show a random nearby object that isn't even facing the mirror).
What do you expect to see? The mirrors should reflect the object/s or anything that is located in front or opposite of them.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Hi! So I've been experiencing this mirror bug and I don't really know what the root of the glitch is. Please help me with this ☹️ I have a 13' Macbook Pro 2020, M1 Chip. Any form of assistance will be very much appreciated. Thank you so much!

  • @crinrict Hello! I have an Apple M1 Chip. You can check the attached image for more information. Thank you for the quick response Crin!

  • @crinrict Thank you for forwarding this concern.

I checked the link that you sent and tried the solution that was in there (User Therumlon's comment). Unfortunately, it didn't work. These are the steps/things I did so far:

-I downloaded the latest version of DXVK as what the solution implied (link to the download page is here: https://github.com/marzent/dxvk/releases/tag/v1.10-mac)

-I placed the whole folder (the downloaded DXVK file) to the bin just as what the solution said. It didn't work so I tried placing it in the game directory instead of just the bin.

-Still didn't work upon checking, so I opened the DXVK folder, clicked x64 folder, then moved all of its contents to the bin directory. Still didn't work so I moved them to the game directory instead and still didn't work.

Sims 4 is native for Intel Macs, it doesn’t require Wine to run so that link is irrelevant for you. Rosetta2 will be translating the game so it runs on your Silicon Mac. Crin was linking for info, not for a workaround.

I have M1 and Intel Macs, I’m going to see if I also experience your issue in my game.

I don't have your issue on my M1 MacBook Air. I'm running Monterey.

What are your in-game Graphics Options? These are mine:

Moved the thread to the Mac tech forum.
