Newly downloaded Sims 4 won't connect to gallery

So I got a new Macbook pro this year (2020) and I pulled my files over but redownloaded sims 4 from the origin application and bought a couple new packs. I only did the thing where you manually pull your saves over and that seemed to work. Things are a little kerfuzzled because it thinks all the packs are new but gameplay wise its preforming perfectly as far as I've noticed. But when I go to the gallery I'm logged in to my origin account but it asks me to connect to the internet and then fails to do so. I don't think I have a legacy game because I can play the new snowy escape perfectly well. I've tried checking my origin settings and internal sims4 settings and they are both what they should be (I think). I've tried checking my security settings and I don't even have a firewall or proxys enable to block anything. I emptied my cashe and tray folders just in case (but there were no files in them anyway). I've also done the obvious of closing and restarting things (sims4, origin, the computer itself). NO DICE.

I'm not sure what's wrong or how to fix it. HELP!

My game version reads as 1.69.59.1220 so maybe I'm wrong on it being legacy.
