Origin won't download Sims 4?

Please, add Origin as an exception to your firewall, and try to download the game again with Origin safe mode downloading still enabled.

Still no change. Have tried at two different locations (just in case it was my wifi) and have tried with Safe Mode on and off. It just downloads for a few mins and then drops to zero and says 'Calculating'. It's also struggling to pause the download, it keeps needing to be Force Quit because it won't pause, but I don't know if that's related. I just tried reinstalling Origin again and still nothing.

I'm having the exact same problem. Download is stuck at 35% with the speed down to zero. It won't pause either so I've had to force quit multiple times, and I've also tried reinstalling origin but to no avail. 

Did you end up finding a way to make it work?

Could you please make sure you have enough space in your computer's hard drive to download and install the game?
