Re: 2017 MacBook Pro, which version of Sims 4?

@elizabkidd

I've moved your post out of the Legacy Edition thread as it doesn't apply to you (and edited the title to reflect your question better ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Your 2017 Mac absolutely supports Metal. What exact issue are you having trying to load the game? Please can you also provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162

    I seem to have fixed it kind of? I went onto origin and "repaired" my game, and I am able to play. except I have a glitch now where a big black box appears underneath my sims as if their shadow is glitching. Here are my Mac details anyway:

    Model Name: MacBook Pro

      Model Identifier: MacBookPro14,1

      Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Core i5

      Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz

      Number of Processors: 1

      Total Number of Cores: 2

      L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

      L3 Cache: 4 MB

      Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled

      Memory: 8 GB

    When I tried to open Sims 4, the little box popped up saying my game was damaged or was missing data, so I thought I had to download the legacy edition โ˜น๏ธ because I don't have the same processor and whatnot that EA recommended. I also know nothing about computers so I wasn't sure if my processor was better or worse than the minimum requirement that EA mentioned. I guess its all okay now? I hope. I don't see why it made me 'repair' my game but im happy I don't have to use the legacy edition ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!

    MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

    processor: 2.3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

    memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

    graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB
